Bradley Family Album

Frederick Worthen Bradley served as President of the Alaska Juneau and the Treadwell Mines and supervised all work at the AJ and the Treadwell from 1899 until his death in 1933. His younger brother, mining engineer Philip Bradley, became superintendent of the Treadwell Mine in 1914.

Alaska Electric Light and Power

The men who founded AEL &P in 1893 were all affiliated with the Treadwell mines. They recognized that the electricity generated at the Treadwell power plants and Sheep and Nugget Creeks could be used more widely. For years AEL & P bought electricity from the mines.
